Gartner storage leader report ranks NetApp in Magic Quadrant for enterprise storage

NetApp has retained its Leader position in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Storage Platforms, continuing from the report’s inaugural 2025 edition. The evaluation considers vendors based on their Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute, but the more specific takeaway from this year’s recognition comes from Gartner’s Critical Capabilities assessment.

NetApp ranked first in the Hybrid Cloud Storage Use Case and second in the Hybrid Platform Services Use Case in the 2026 Gartner Critical Capabilities for Enterprise Storage Platforms report. That shifts the focus beyond the Leader label itself and toward where the company’s storage capabilities are positioned for hybrid environments.

Hybrid cloud becomes a key storage battleground

The recognition comes as enterprise storage platforms increasingly need to support data spread across different environments. NetApp’s platform is positioned around a unified approach, providing zero-copy access to data wherever it resides and connecting storage with AI and analytics ecosystems.

In NetApp’s case, the strongest reported scores were in hybrid cloud storage and hybrid platform services.
