SentinelOne Wayfinder Frontier AI brings OpenAI models

Security teams often have no shortage of vulnerabilities to investigate. The harder problem is knowing which ones an attacker can actually reach and exploit. SentinelOne Wayfinder Frontier AI is being expanded around that challenge, bringing OpenAI’s latest cyber models into security workflows through the Daybreak Defence Network.
The expanded offering starts with OpenAI’s GPT-5.6-Cyber and is designed to help customers identify and remediate exploitable threats before cybercriminal or nation-state attackers can take advantage of them. The focus is therefore shifting from simply finding more weaknesses to helping teams understand which risks matter most.
From bigger lists to clearer risks
SentinelOne’s approach is built around the idea that larger vulnerability backlogs do not necessarily make security teams more effective. Wayfinder Frontier AI Services combines frontier AI models with SentinelOne’s offensive and defensive security expertise to produce a prioritised view of risks, along with remediation guidance.
As part of SentinelOne's OpenAI collaboration through the Daybreak Defence Network, SentinelLABS has evaluated public and private AI models against cyber tasks. The company reports that GPT-5.6-Cyber performed strongly in reverse engineering and analysis of military-grade malware such as fast16.
That model selection is important because the expanded service does not treat AI as a one-size-fits-all tool. Models are being selected for specific security tasks, alongside SentinelOne’s existing model lineup.
Code and compromise get AI assistance
The expansion introduces two capability areas. AI-Powered Code Risk Analysis scans repositories for OWASP-class flaws, code implants, exposed secrets and supply-chain risks, then helps validate which vulnerabilities an attacker can reach.
When potentially malicious samples are identified, AI-assisted workflows support disassembly, deobfuscation and behavioural analysis. Findings include IOCs, MITRE ATT&CK mapping and recommended detections, with SentinelOne analysts validating the results.
AI-Enabled Compromise Assessment takes a similar approach to security telemetry. It uses AI-driven triage to identify posture gaps across VPNs, proxies, remote management tools, and other dual-use software, replacing hours of manual review with automated analysis.
