Siemens and Redington expand industrial software access across Africa

Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced an agreement with Redington to bring the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of industrial software to six African markets — Egypt, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Morocco and Tanzania.
The collaboration will give engineers and designers in these markets access to Siemens solutions covering product lifecycle management, product design, engineering, simulation and testing.
Partnership targets industrial digital transformation
Under the agreement, customers will gain access to Teamcenter software for product lifecycle management, Designcenter software for product design and engineering and Simcenter software for simulation and testing. The solutions are supported by Siemens' Digital Twin technology and Industrial AI capabilities.
Siemens says these technologies can help companies predict failures, improve production processes and support faster product development.
The partnership comes as industries across Africa increase their use of digital technologies to improve efficiency, resilience and growth. Redington's local market knowledge and partner network will be combined with Siemens' industrial software portfolio to help organisations adopt these technologies.
Sayantan Dev, CEO, Software Solutions Group, Redington said, “Industrial AI is opening a new chapter in how businesses design, manufacture and operate. Our partnership with Siemens brings advanced software and Digital Twin capabilities closer to African enterprises and translates them into real-world outcomes.”
He added that Redington's focus will be on helping organisations apply these technologies at scale to improve productivity, optimise operations and develop new ways of working.
Cobus Oosthuizen, VP & Managing Director, Africa & Middle East, Siemens Digital Industries Software said, “Our work with Redington allows us to better support our customers and respond to the surging demand for digitalisation across Africa.”
He added that Redington's experience in distributing Altair simulation tools, which Siemens integrated into its portfolio last year, was among the reasons for selecting the company as a partner for the region.
The agreement is expected to give customers across the six markets greater access to Siemens' industrial software, along with local expertise and support to help them make better use of the technologies. Siemens and Redington also plan to expand the collaboration into additional regions in the future.
