Smarten Power Systems COO Appointment Brings Ranjit Singh Onboard

The Smarten Power Systems COO appointment marks an important step in the company's expansion plans. The Indian power backup and solar energy solutions company has appointed Ranjit Singh as its Chief Operating Officer, effective August 1, 2026. Approved by the Board of Directors, the appointment comes as Smarten continues to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and prepare for its next phase of growth.
Rather than being a routine leadership change, the appointment reflects the company's focus on building stronger operational systems as demand for power backup and renewable energy solutions continues to grow.
Experienced Leadership for a Growing Business
Before becoming COO, Singh served as a Consultant and Vice President of Operations at Smarten. During this period, he helped improve manufacturing processes, strengthen operational efficiency, and support several strategic initiatives.
One of his key contributions was leading the transition of Smarten's in-house battery manufacturing facility at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The project followed the company's IPO and involved establishing stable production systems, operational processes, and teams. With that transition complete, Singh will now oversee manufacturing operations, supply chain management, quality systems, and strategic execution across existing and upcoming facilities.
Expansion Plans Demand Operational Excellence
Smarten said the appointment comes at a time when it is expanding both its product portfolio and manufacturing footprint. As the company targets growth in India and overseas markets, operational efficiency has become increasingly important.
CEO Rajnish Sharma said Singh's operational expertise and manufacturing experience make him well-suited to lead the company's next phase. Having already worked closely with the business, he is expected to strengthen execution while supporting Smarten's long-term strategy.
Sharing his views, Ranjit Singh said his focus will be on improving manufacturing excellence, supply chain agility, quality systems, and continuous operational improvement while building scalable operations that support innovation and customer value.
A Veteran Steps Into a Strategic Role
Singh brings more than 52 years of experience across manufacturing, engineering, product development, power electronics, telecom power, and renewable energy. His career includes leadership positions at Vrinda Nano Technologies, Agmetal India, Delta Power Solutions India, Ascom India, Benning SMC Power Systems, Bhurji Electronics, JCT Electronics, UPTRON Powertronics, USHA Rectifier Corporation India, and Eastern Electronics.
This extensive industry background gives Smarten experienced leadership as it scales manufacturing and strengthens execution.
