SonicWall Endpoint Security puts MSPs in focus

SonicWall has launched SonicWall Endpoint Security, a unified endpoint protection platform built for managed service providers (MSPs) serving small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs). The offering combines endpoint detection and response (EDR), managed detection and response (MDR), threat protection and one-click ransomware recovery.

The launch addresses a gap SonicWall identifies in the SMB security market: affordable endpoint tools can lack the advanced detection capabilities needed against sophisticated threats. The company says one in three SMBs are expected to face a cyberattack, while 60% of MSPs that suffer a breach never fully recover.

MSP security gets a unified approach

The platform combines next-generation antivirus and EDR through a lightweight agent managed from a unified, multi-tenant console. It uses SonicWall’s patented Real-Time Deep Memory Inspection (RTDMI) engine, along with behaviour-based heuristic scanning and automated threat responses.

For MSPs, the focus is less on adding another standalone tool and more on simplifying daily security operations. Device control is built in, while integrations with SIEM and ticketing tools are intended to support existing workflows.

Endpoint security adds ransomware rollback

One of the key features is one-click ransomware restore. The capability can roll back a compromised endpoint to a known-good state in minutes, giving MSPs a direct recovery option when an attack disrupts a device.

The platform is available in three tiers. Endpoint Security Advanced combines NGAV and EDR, while Premier adds longer telemetry retention for forensic visibility. MDR for Endpoint Security adds SonicWall’s 24x7x365 SOC, managed threat hunting and policy management.

EDR software comes with a managed option

For partners without their own security operations practice, SonicWall is also offering the platform as an MDR service through SonicSentry. Its SOC handles deployment, threat hunting, incident response and policy management.

The broader positioning is clear: MSP endpoint protection needs to balance security depth with operational simplicity and cost. SonicWall Endpoint Security is now available through the company’s global partner network on monthly or term subscriptions.
