Synology 2026 India strategy: Introduces updated PAS Series and ActiveProtect in India

As Indian enterprises scale their AI initiatives, they are hitting a structural wall. While 88% of companies have introduced AI into daily operations, only 6% are seeing meaningful business impact. Synology has announced an expanded 2026 India strategy specifically designed to bridge this gap by transforming storage into AI-ready infrastructure.

The biggest challenge identified is "Data Gravity". With 90% of enterprise data being unstructured, including emails, documents, and videos, moving it at scale is becoming impossible due to cost and latency.

The AI-Ready infrastructure roadmap

Synology’s 2026 commitment focuses on a cost-effective, end-to-end infrastructure that supports every step of the AI journey:

  • High-Performance NVMe Systems: Bringing updated PAS series enterprise storage to the Indian market.

  • ActiveProtect Line: New data protection appliances slated for a worldwide launch in June 2026.

  • AI-Driven Data Pathways: Embedding AI capabilities to make unstructured data usable for complex AI workloads.

A stellar performance in 2025

The strategy follows a record-breaking year for the company. In 2025, Synology shipped 43.8 Exabytes of storage capacity worldwide, enough to hold 8.8 trillion 5 MB photographs.

Key accolades driving this growth include:

  • Gartner Recognition: The ActiveProtect line was featured in the Gartner Market Guide for Enterprise Backup Storage Appliances.

  • Reader Awards: Synology won PCMag’s Readers’ Choice and Business Choice Awards for its NAS and IT-managed servers.

Focusing on the public sector and resilience

In India, Synology’s growth has been fueled largely by government and public sector organisations. Moving forward, the company will focus on system-level protection and improved backup/recovery to defend against evolving AI-age threats.

“Indian enterprises need more than just storage, they need an end-to-end infrastructure. They are no longer asking how much data they can store, but how much of their data they truly control,” said Asta Liang, Country Manager - SAARC at Synology Inc.

Andrew Huang, a Regional Marketing Manager for Synology, shared exclusively that Synology is focused towards expanding and strengthening its partner ecosystem in India. They are also enabling and educating partners. Their focus is on developing strong and reliable storage. That, in turn, will focus on assisting SMBs and MSMEs to adopt AI.

Conclusion

By addressing the "Data Gravity" challenge and providing high-performance NVMe systems, Synology is moving beyond the role of a traditional storage provider. Their 2026 strategy positions them as a critical partner for Indian organisations, from media houses to financial institutions, looking to turn massive amounts of data into actionable AI outcomes.
