Whatfix Names Co-Founder Vara Kumar as CEO to Lead Next Phase of Agentic DAP Growth

Whatfix, a provider of agentic digital adoption platforms (DAPs) for enterprises, has announced that Co-founder Vara Kumar has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Vara succeeds his long-time co-founder and business partner, Khadim Batti, following his sudden passing on September 1, 2026.
Since co-founding Whatfix alongside Batti in 2014, Vara has served as the chief architect of the company’s product engineering, research, and innovation roadmap. Over the past twelve years, he guided the platform's architectural evolution from an early-stage digital guidance tool into a global agentic digital adoption platform serving over 600 enterprise organisations worldwide, including more than 80 Fortune 500 companies such as Shell, Schneider Electric, Mercedes-Benz, Heineken, and UPS Supply Chain Solutions.
Building on Twelve Years of Architectural Innovation
Under Vara’s technology leadership, Whatfix pioneered the concept of "userization", designing enterprise software interfaces and agentic workflows to adapt dynamically to human employees rather than forcing users through rigid, manual training regimens.
The platform's proprietary ScreenSense technology utilises intent recognition and computer vision to identify process bottlenecks across complex enterprise web, desktop, and mobile applications, triggering contextual step-by-step guidance, simulation environments, and automated task execution in real time.
As organisations accelerate the deployment of autonomous AI copilots and agentic workflows across enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), and supply chain systems, Whatfix has expanded its platform into an agentic overlay layer that measures software adoption, automates routine data entry, and reduces operational error rates across distributed workforces.
Ensuring Seamless Global Operations and Partner Alignment
Whatfix confirmed that its global operations across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Australia continue to run without interruption under the unified leadership of Vara, the executive management team, and the board of directors.
Backed by institutional investors includingWarburg Pincus, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Dragoneer Investment Group, Peak XV Partners, Eight Roads Ventures, and Cisco Investments, Whatfix maintains a solid capital foundation and operational infrastructure to support its long-term growth and technology commitments.
Executive Perspective on Vision and Governance
Vara Kumar, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Whatfix, highlighted the lasting foundation built over the past twelve years and reaffirmed the company's commitment to customer-centric innovation:
"Khadim was a visionary leader, a partner, and a dear friend. Over the past twelve years, we built Whatfix on a shared conviction that technology should empower people, not stand in their way. As I step into the role of CEO, our executive leadership team and I remain deeply committed to realizing that vision, supporting our global customers and partners, and building an enduring enterprise anchored in strong fundamentals."
Supported by its executive leadership team and global workforce, Whatfix continues to execute against its product roadmap, empowering enterprise employees to navigate complex digital environments with greater speed, accuracy, and confidence.
